Summary |
The Spray Technician is responsible for all chemical applications to the Golf property
(under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent) that includes but not limited to; the Golf Course, Club House grounds, landscaping and related areas. Additionally, the Sprat Technician’s responsibilities include all general work activities associated to a Greenskeeper III, assisting with Golf Course projects and serving as a lead when working with Greenskeepers |
Duties & Responsibilities |
Product:
- Deliver a business which is driven by quality, value and excellence as measured by consistent survey scores of 4.0 and higher.
- Working knowledge of chemical application equipment.
- Records all chemical applications in the Chemical Log Book.
- Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with County, State and Federal regulations and is responsible for the safety and direction of chemical handlers and/or Team Members.
Knowledge and proficient in the safe mechanical operation and calibration of:
- Mechanical pressurized spray equipment
- Hand operated spray equipment
- Hand operated rotary and drop spreaders
- Utility tractors
Assist in maintaining a daily record log for:
- Fertilizer and pesticide applications and rates of.
- Daily implementation and adherence to Golf Course universal standards.
- Capable and proficient in Greenskeeper III duties.
- Ensure proper storage, use and labeling of all chemicals.
People:
- Develop a culture based on mutual respect, clear expectations with the ability to grow and develop as measured by turnover rates.
- Insures safe work environment to include compliance with OSHA / WISHA guidelines and standard operating procedure and proper operating usage of equipment as defined in related owner's manual specifications.

| Duties |
Responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of entire golf course maintenance fleet. Candidate will not be responsible for cart fleet. Must be computer literate and keep good records of maintenance and repairs on all equipment. Familiarity with the Toro MyTurf program is a plus. Must be capable of welding and fabricating. Will be responsible for budgeting, inventorying and ordering of supplies and parts and monitoring fuel usage. |

Must be computer literate. Must keep an immaculate shop. Cleanliness is extremely high on the importance list. Candidate should be an expert at trouble shooting; electrical, and hydraulic, automotive, 2-stroke, 4 stroke, and diesel and gas engines. Candidate should be capable of reading electrical and hydraulic schematics. Must be very adept at grinding and daily setup of reels to provide exceptional mowing performance. |
| Experience |
Ideal candidate should have at least 3 years in the turfgrass industry. Extra consideration will be made to those who have attended the Toro training classes, grinding schools, welding certification, etc. Please list any of these accomplishments in your resume. |

Newcastle is a 36 hole Bob Cupp/Fred Couples designed facility that was built between 1998 and 2002. It is an extremely intense and busy course. Ideal candidate must be able to arrive before the crew and work some long days. They must posses their own tools. We are primarily a Toro fleet but we do have a few non Toro pieces as well. Good communication skills with the crew and supervisors are a must. The ability to work as a team is extremely important. The new turf manager will be following a very good manager who has left the shop, records, and fleet in great condition. |
